SMP Discontinues Certification and Testing Services

SMP's operations for certification and testing are being phased out. Going forward, SMP will only accept assignments related to inspections.

After careful consideration, a decision has been made to discontinue SMP's activities in certification and testing, commonly referred to as Machine Safety. This includes work at the laboratory in Umeå, as well as the testing, training, and certification conducted in Uppsala.

For Customers of Machine Safety

We understand that this decision may raise questions for you as a customer, but we want to assure you that we are doing our utmost to ensure that ongoing assignments continue as smoothly as possible. You will, of course, be contacted by us for a discussion shortly.

No Impact on Inspections

The decision does not affect SMP's inspection services, which remain unchanged. Our engineers are still available for assignments throughout the country and offer inspection services for, among other things, mobile machines, lifting objects, doors, and pressure vessels.

Our website has not yet been updated to reflect this decision and our changed service offering, but as of now, SMP will not accept any new assignments in certification, environmental control, testing, or training within machine safety.
