Testing of chainsaw protective clothing

Testing of chainsaw protective clothing such as protective trousers, jackets, gloves, boots, and shoes according to European and international testing standards.

When performing chainsaw work, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to reduce the risk of serious accidents. These products must meet specific requirements to provide the desired level of protection. One of the largest testing areas in our testing laboratory in Umeå is the testing of protective clothing for chainsaw work, where we have customers from all over the world. The testing is conducted according to numerous European and international testing and requirement standards.

We have the only accredited testing rig for chainsaw protective clothing in Sweden, and it is also one of the few testing rigs in Europe. The rig for testing cutting resistance meets the requirements of EN ISO 11393-1 and EN 381-1.

It can also be used for the evaluation of chainsaw protective materials and chainsaw chains.

We perform accredited testing according to the quality standard ISO 17025 and issue accredited test reports in compliance with multiple international and European testing and requirement standards, such as the EN ISO 11393 series, EN 381 series, and AS/NZS 4453. Testing is conducted on personal protective equipment for chainsaw work, including protective trousers, jackets, gloves, boots, and shoes. Pre-treatment can be performed according to EN ISO 6330. The testing process includes cutting resistance, ergonomic testing, seam strength, and shrinkage measurement.

Accredited test reports are issued and can be used as the basis for EU-type examination (certification) of the product.
