Eurotest Certifiering
EuroTest is a trademark for a third-party certification. This means that a product with a EuroTest certificate has been reviewed by an independent third party, which has assessed that the product has been manufactured in compliance with the fundamental health and safety requirements specified in the relevant directives and regulations.
Even though the EU’s Product Safety Directive states that the manufacturer is responsible for CE marking, there is always the option to voluntarily hire an expert, such as an accredited certification body. Since the manufacturer carries significant product responsibility, it offers extra reassurance to obtain an independent opinion (inspection report) and a certificate that confirms the CE marking is in line with the directives and regulations.
By having a EuroTest certificate, the manufacturer has done everything possible to ensure that the requirements are met. A EuroTest certificate strengthens the CE marking. It shows the market that a third party has reviewed the product and found it to meet the safety requirements of the relevant directives, regulations, and standards.
By choosing a certification body that is also a notified body, manufacturers can ensure that the certification body has undergone quality assurance. SMP Svensk Maskinprovning AB is a notified body for the Machinery Directive and the PPE Regulation (regarding protective clothing for chainsaw work and high-visibility clothing).
Deliveries
SMP Svensk Maskinprovning AB inspects the product and its technical manufacturing documentation against the requirement documents. This inspection can be carried out either on-site at our facility or at the customer’s location.
SMP Svensk Maskinprovning AB can review both the product and the technical documentation, and after the manufacturer has made any necessary modifications, certify that the product meets the health and safety requirements in the relevant standards, regulations, and directives. After the initial review, the customer receives an inspection report that clarifies the status of the product and the technical documentation. Once the inspection report is approved, the customer can obtain a EuroTest certificate.
A EuroTest certificate also grants the customer permission to use the EuroTest logo on the product.
EuroTest certificates are issued by certification bodies that are members of the EuroTest cooperation. In Sweden, SMP Svensk Maskinprovning AB issues EuroTest certificates. The certificate becomes a recognized and important quality mark throughout Europe.
